A Blockaded Family in Southern Alabama During the Civil War
This is one of the few published texts written by someone who experienced life during the war between the states. It is a glimpse into the resourcefulness of everyday people. In today's light it is sometimes poignant, at times shocking, but always thought provoking. It is a great place to begin one's study of Southern society of the times.
