How They lived 

Our ancestors of the nineteenth century lived very differently from us today.  The soldier did not have the same advantages of the modern army.  Likewise, the citizens of the South, who were used to Southern living of the 1800's, had to endure severe shortages during the war.  
The following pages detail some of the aspects of life at a time of great turmoil.  We all can learn many lessons from them.
